Knit a Jumper in January
Join me and let’s KNIT A JUMPER IN JANUARY (spoiler alert - it may take longer than January because knitting isn’t quick!)
This is complete beginner friendly as we’ll practice first with our gauge swatches.
This is the pattern we’ll be following:
https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/step-by-step-sweater
It’s free to download so you can take a look before we start.
I can advise on needles, yarn and sizing.
You will need circular needles (if you don’t know what these are please ask - they don’t need to be fancy or expensive - just circular)
The yarn I will be using is:
https://www.woolwarehouse.co.uk/drops-nepal-all-colours
It’s cheap but good quality. It can be a little scratchy though so if you’re sensitive to stuff like that I’d probably use something else.
I’ll be knitting size E so will be buying 15 skeins of yarn (or 750g).
Most Aran weight yarns will be fine.
Book on sooner rather than later so that I can help you measure yourself so you’ll be able to purchase the correct quantity of yarn before we start.
Location: Sam Dale & Son, Holmes Chapel, Cheshire.
Dates: Thursday 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th January 2026.
Times: 18:00-20:30 (2.5 hours)
Price: £12.50 per person per session.
Adults only - maximum 8.
Materials list:
Materials NOT provided however I will bring extra copies of the pattern.
I will also block your gauge swatches for you.
You’ll need the following:
4.5mm circular needles (80cm length)
5.5mm circular needles (80 or 100cm length)
Stitch markers (or scrap pieces of contrasting yarn)
Aran weight yarn - enough for the size you wish to make.
